Sultana
Perhaps he left for hospital?
Eeehm!
There’s an emergency,
Huh!
The blind girl, waiting impatiently by the gate.
Perhaps someone follows,
Perhaps not.
Run!
Run girl, run
Run for cover.
They leave long before dawn,
And leave behind Sultana
They’ll be back after sunset
They come from the sea where they went fishing
As ducks flitter and litter the compound,
They flatter to matter
Beating the midday clatter of the ocean side.
A sound is heard;
The monologue of hatred and betrayal
The journey subjecting scar on hot nail
Sultana calls out for Mama
Her voice gradually begins to frail
Of the circus that beats a curse
